Blessed are those who allow themselves to be carried away by the stories of the ancient walls, frescoes and arches, by the lives of those who came before us, by its meaning and theirs. It is the spirit of a place steeped in history that inspires us and invites us to reflect and discover. And when all this is accompanied by music, it also creates the gateway through which joy enters.

The Black Church is an emblematic monument for Brasov, and even more so for Romania. To reach the Black Church is to be introduced to the very symbol of the medieval city of Brasov. Here you will find different types of tours, longer or shorter, adapted to different types of audiences (families, companies, children, people with special needs), thematic tours (presentation of the architecture, collection of Ottoman carpets, confession and faith, collection of historical vestments, presentation of the organ), backstage tours (presentation of different restoration and conservation projects), as well as a meeting with what we call the “Professional Guest” – a specialist from a field other than art or history, who will talk about different perspectives of the Black Church.

The organ concerts are well known to music lovers and connoisseurs, and are a discovery for those who come here for the first time, as well as a long-awaited moment for those who have tasted it at least once and come back for it.

Summer Concert Season 2026 at the Black Church

Organ Nights 2026

The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Romania – Brașov Parish warmly invites music lovers and visitors alike to the 74th edition of the Organ Nights summer festival season, as well as to seven extraordinary concerts taking place at the Black Church between June 6 and October 22, 2026.

The concert season at the Black Church opens on Saturday, June 6, at 6:00 PM with the opening of the Organ Nights Festival, a beloved and highly anticipated concert season. This year’s edition will feature artists from 11 countries: Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, the United States, Latvia, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Romania.

The 20 summer concerts, held under the motto “Soli Deo Gloria,” will take place every Saturday from June 6 to October 17, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM.

Tickets for Organ Nights cost 35 RON, while children under 18 continue to enjoy free admission. Tickets may be purchased starting from the Monday of each concert week at the ticket office located inside the INSPIRATIO Gift Studio shop, or online for any Organ Nights concert via www.booktes.com starting June 1, 2026.

The public may also purchase festival subscriptions priced at 80 RON, granting access to any five concerts within the Organ Nights season. Subscriptions are available at the INSPIRATIO Gift Studio.

5 RON from every ticket sold will support the restoration of the organ in Ticușu Vechi, a valuable Baroque instrument built in 1757 by Johannes Baumgarten, one of the most important organ builders of his time. The instrument is among the few surviving Baumgarten organs and is remarkable both for its artistic refinement and distinctive sound, as well as for a unique decorative feature: two carved parrots adorning the façade, an exceptional detail within the Transylvanian cultural landscape. Its restoration will return to the musical circuit a heritage instrument of extraordinary value.

Extraordinary Concerts

Audiences will also have the opportunity to attend seven extraordinary concerts featuring trombone, violin, classical guitar, bandoneon, organ, and choral performances, offering an appealing musical diversity for all lovers of sacred music.

Tickets for these concerts will be available both at the INSPIRATIO Gift Studio, located at 8 Johannes Honterus Courtyard (opposite the Black Church), and online via www.booktes.com  or, for events included in the Brașov Philharmonic Season, via the platforms announced by the Philharmonic. Details regarding the extraordinary concerts and ticket sale dates will be published on the official website of the Black Church, www.bisericaneagra.ro, and on its social media pages (Organ Nights; Black Church – History & Music).
