Blessed are those who allow themselves to be carried away by the stories of the ancient walls, frescoes and arches, by the lives of those who came before us, by its meaning and theirs. It is the spirit of a place steeped in history that inspires us and invites us to reflect and discover. And when all this is accompanied by music, it also creates the gateway through which joy enters.
The Black Church is an emblematic monument for Brasov, and even more so for Romania. To reach the Black Church is to be introduced to the very symbol of the medieval city of Brasov. Here you will find different types of tours, longer or shorter, adapted to different types of audiences (families, companies, children, people with special needs), thematic tours (presentation of the architecture, collection of Ottoman carpets, confession and faith, collection of historical vestments, presentation of the organ), backstage tours (presentation of different restoration and conservation projects), as well as a meeting with what we call the “Professional Guest” – a specialist from a field other than art or history, who will talk about different perspectives of the Black Church.
The organ concerts are well known to music lovers and connoisseurs, and are a discovery for those who come here for the first time, as well as a long-awaited moment for those who have tasted it at least once and come back for it.

In 2024, 185 years will be celebrated since the inauguration of the famous instrument in the Black Church: the Buchholz organ – which since April 17th, 1839 has been an important instrument on a European level. It enriches the religious services of the evangelical community, being at the same time a fascinating instrument for the public who can enjoy, during the concerts, its unmistakable timbre.
The cost of a ticket is 25 lei, and children under 18 benefit from free admission. Tickets can be purchased from the Monday of the week in which each concert is held, from the ticket office inside the INSPIRATIO Gift Studio store, located at Curtea Johannes Honterus no. 8 (opposite the Black Church), or online, for any concert during the season, from www.booktes.com from May 15th. The public also has the opportunity to purchase subscriptions worth 80 lei for the Organ Nights festival. Subscriptions allow access to any 5 concerts during the season.
